Côtes du Roussillon Augusta White
This unusual yet delicious white blend is made up of Macabeo, Vermentino and Grenache Blanc. Think of it as a French take on American Chardonnay, but more complex and elegant. The result is a well-balanced wine that’s quite fruity upfront without being too sweet and a smooth and elegant oaky finish. If you’re open to changing up your whites give this one a try!
About the wine
Grapes: 50% Macabeo, 30% Vermentino and 20% Grenache Blanc
Region: Languedoc Roussillon, FRANCE
Tasting notes: An expansive, ample and substantial wine. The Macabeo and Grenache blanc are picked slightly underripe to preserve their freshness and minerality. Ten percent by volume is matured in barrels. Vermentino is vinified separately, adding citrus and exotic fruit notes.
Food friends: Perfect match with fish (cooked, grilled, raw or marinated). Also great with white meats and goat cheese.
